Did you know abortion is still happening in Texas?
Despite a total abortion ban in Texas, abortions continue to rise through increased access to the abortion pill, made easily accessible through the mail. It’s imperative we understand the risks and harm to women from chemical abortions, specifically from mifepristone. A 2025 study revealed the harmful impact of the FDA’s policy decision on the health of women and that serious complications were actually 22x higher than reported.
This graph reflects the rapid rate at which chemical abortions have increased since the US FDA approved Mifepristone in 2000 and now accounts for at least 2/3 of the abortions in the US. Over one million abortions, two thirds of these are from the abortion pill.
